Dan Uggla extended his hitting streak to 32 games with a second-inning home run Friday as the Braves beat the Chicago Cubs, 10-4, in Atlanta.

Uggla hit another homer in the fifth inning -- his 26th and the team's fifth of the game off Carlos Zambrano. Zambrano was ejected later in the inning after throwing two inside pitches to Chipper Jones.

Uggla's streak is the longest in the majors this season. He entered Friday night's game batting .355 (44-for-124) with 12 homers and 29 RBIs during the streak, but only .224 overall.

The Braves unloaded on Zambrano after seeing former manager Bobby Cox's No. 6 retired in a pregame ceremony.

Marlins 2, Giants 1: Ricky Nolasco gave up one run in eight innings as host Florida snapped a seven-game losing streak. Carlos Beltran (strained right hand) missed his fourth straight game and might go on the DL.

Nationals 4, Phillies 2: Livan Hernandez (7-11) held host Philadelphia scoreless for 62/3 innings to beat Cole Hamels (13-7), who said he was not able to get loose. Manager Charlie Manuel said his shoulder was "stiff."

Reds 5, Padres 3: Jay Bruce hit a three-run homer with two outs in the eighth inning to lift host Cincinnati.

Cardinals 6, Rockies 1: Kyle Lohse worked into the seventh inning after a week between starts and Albert Pujols had two hits and the go-ahead RBI for host St. Louis.

Angels 5, Blue Jays 1: Ervin Santana threw a complete game for visiting Los Angeles and improved to 6-0 with a 1.50 ERA in his last nine starts.

Tigers 5, Orioles 4: Wilson Betemit homered and rookie Andy Dirks had a career-high four hits as visiting Detroit overcame two home runs by J.J. Hardy.

Indians 3, Twins 2: Matt LaPorta and Carlos Santana hit RBI doubles in the eighth as host Cleveland rallied past Minnesota.

Tigers pitcher hit in head

Detroit reliever Al Alburquerque suffered a concussion Friday after being struck in the head by a line drive during batting practice. Alburquerque remained hospitalized overnight for observation.

Ernie Johnson dies at 87

Former longtime Braves broadcaster and pitcher Ernie Johnson Sr. has died at age 87. Johnson, the father of broadcaster Ernie Johnson Jr., played with the Boston and Milwaukee Braves before becoming the voice of the Braves on radio and TV. The Braves will wear a commemorative patch for the remainder of the season.

Cubs sign Gretzky's son

The Chicago Cubs have agreed to terms with first baseman Trevor Gretzky, the son of hockey great Wayne Gretzky. Trevor Gretzky was a seventh-round pick from Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian High School.-- AP
