The Hempstead Bay Power Squadron, a unit of the United States Power Squadrons, in conjunction with Nassau County and the National Safe Boating Council, plans to present a safe boating demonstration program on Sunday.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Nassau County Wantagh Park, 1 King Rd., just south of Merrick Road. The program is free and open to the public.

Members of the squadron will be available to answer questions and discuss life jacket requirements and boating safety. Interested participants can bring their boat by water to the Wantagh Park launching ramp, or by trailer to the parking lot for a vessel safety check by certified members of the squadron.

For additional information, call the squadron at 516-293-7773, or email hbpsedu@att.net.
