You can no longer feed ducks or swans in Sag Harbor.

It’s not that village officials don’t like having them around. It’s more that the animals won’t go away.

“The ducks hang out behind the bulkheads. They don’t want to leave,” said village board member Robert Stein before the ban on feeding was adopted, 4-0, on Tuesday night.

Village code already banned feeding geese, and the board’s action specifically adds ducks, swans and “other wildfowl” to the list of animals that cannot be fed anywhere within the village.

Violators can be fined up to $250.
