Sal Mignano gets 500th career win

Shoreham-Wading River coach Sal Mignano picked up his 500th career win with a 10-3 victory over Sayville today. He is 500-291 in his 34th season, all at Shoreham-Wading River and becomes just the third coach in Suffolk history to reach the mark.

"It's a nice feeling," he said. "It makes me realize how long I have done this. It's a special feeling to achieve something that only two other coaches in Suffolk have done. It's even better to do it all at one place."

Mignano has won nine league titles, six county county championships and a state Class B title in 1987.
