Celebrity DJ Samantha Ronson lent her estimable club cred to the “Brazilian Sunflowers” event Saturday night, spinning to benefit the Association of Community Employment Programs for the Homeless at founder Henry Buhl’s Southampton estate, But, first, hot Brazilian singer Bebel Gilberto showed off the Bossa Nova moves that have made her an international star.

Ronson and Bebel are the latest in a line of hot women working for A.C.E. -- and hanging out with Henry -- that includes Jane Fonda, Lauren Hutton and Marissa Berenson. A bon vivant art collector with a social conscience, Buhl founded the program in 1992, to mainstream the homeless into the workforce -- and apartments.

It all started in Soho when a homeless man asked Henry for a hand-out and got a job instead. Buhl resuscitated a local effort that paid to keep the streets clean and grew it into a grand-scale organization which, today, services most of downtown. It gives work experience and recommendations, a four- to six-month training program and an aftercare support system to help get homeless people on their feet.

Longtime supporter Robin Cofer, who with fiancé Dominick D’Alleva, has co-chaired and been honored at previous A.C.E. benefits got to meet Ronson. “Her manners really impressed me,” said Cofer. “The way she shook my hand, looked me in the eye and said, ‘Very nice to meet you,’ showed really good breeding. She had zero attitude, great humility and seemed comfortable in her own skin. With that cigarette hanging out of her mouth, she was like a female James Dean. Her whole aura oozed hipness -- and she’s a great DJ. The way she intermixed the music was seamless. The choices were fabulous. And she kept the dance floor packed.”

There’s more than a little syncronicity: D’Alleva owns Sway nightclub in Soho. To be continued?
