Sandusky ruling expected Tuesday
Former Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky, who could spend the rest of his life in prison for molesting children, went on a Penn State student-run radio station yesterday to declare his innocence, saying that his wife has been his "only sex partner" and that he "did not do these alleged, disgusting acts" he was convicted of committing.
Sandusky, 68, is set to be sentenced today, and is expecting to receive more than 20 years in prison, "tantamount to a life sentence," his lawyer, Joe Amendola, told NBC10 in Philadelphia.
Sandusky, who was convicted of sexually abusing 10 boys, was vociferous in his defense, calling one alleged victim "a dramatic and veteran accuser" that "always sought attention," and blamed the media for his arrest and guilty verdict.
He will speak again tomorrow in front of a judge. Amendola said his client was "amazingly upbeat."
