Models will strut down a makeshift runway at Blue restaurant in Blue Point on Sunday night, but it won’t be their outfits that'll be getting judged.

The third annual Shear Runway Project will feature the work of five hair stylists from Capozzi & Co. Salon in Sayville pitted against each other for charity.

Salon owner Ralph Capozzi started the event as a way to inspire his staff and this year transformed it into a charity event, said salon coordinator Sonya Balchi.

Proceeds from the event will be donated to America’s VetDogs, founded by the Guide Dog Foundation, which provides companion dogs for disabled veterans.

Balchi said the stylists were given the theme “Mods and Rockers” and will style their models -- clients and friends of the salon -- the morning of the event. During the show, each model will show off his or her look and a panel of judges will choose a winner. The audience will also have the opportunity to vote, Balchi said.

A cash-bar cocktail hour is from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., at which point the show will begin, Balchi said. There will also be a raffle during the event, and music and dancing afterward, she said.

Tickets are $40 and can be purchased by calling the salon at 631-589-1133.
