Johansson to make stage return

Scarlett Johansson will return to Broadway at the end of the year to play Tennessee Williams' Maggie the Cat in a revival of "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof," Newsday's Linda Winer reports. Although a spokesperson for the production refused to comment yesterday, director Rob Ashford confirmed in an interview with Broadway.com that previews will begin later this year for a January opening. In 2010, Johansson won the Tony award as best featured actress for her Broadway debut in Arthur Miller's "A View from the Bridge," starring Liev Schreiber.
