State Sen. Eric Schneiderman entered the race for state attorney general Saturday.

Schneiderman (D-Manhattan) joins a field that includes Nassau District Attorney Kathleen Rice and three others.

The veteran senator, a New York City native, was flanked by prominent federal and state politicians as he kicked off his campaign on the steps of City Hall in Manhattan. Among his key supporters, Schneiderman, 55, counts congressmen Jerry Nadler, Charles Rangel and José Serrano, Senate Democratic Conference Leader John Sampson, New York City Council Speaker Christine Quinn and Public Advocate Bill de Blasio.
