December Scholar Artist, Emily McPherson

Emily McPherson divides her school day between the Long Island High School for the Arts, where she is a Musical Theatre major, and Elwood/John Glenn High School. She is a “triple threat” performer who sings, dances and acts equally well.

Academically she is a member of the National Honor Society and takes all Honors and A.P. classes.

Emily has participated in NYSSMA’s All State Mixed Chorus, and All County Festivals.  She has performed for the Nassau Region PTA Dinner, The Oyster Festival, Relay for Life, and for senior citizens in local nursing homes.

In addition to studying Theatre at The Long Island High School for The Arts and working on shows at John Glenn High School, she takes Theatre classes and has performed at Stage To Screen in New York City.  Emily values her academic  and theatre classes equally, and hopes to continue both as a Musical Theatre major in college.
