Seaford library concerts begin this weekend
A “Music for a Saturday Evening” summer concert series will launch this weekend at the parking lot behind the Seaford Public Library.
Saturday’s concert will feature Turnpike Joe and the Traffic Jam, a group that performs pop, rock, doo-wop and country hits from the 1950s.
Other planned performances include the country-music Mary Lamont Band, July 30; the doo-wop group New York Exceptions, Aug. 13; and Risky Business, which performs rock songs from the ’50s to the present, Aug. 27.
All concerts are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. The series is sponsored by the Seaford Lions Club, Seaford Chamber of Commerce, Friends of the Seaford Public Library and the Seaford Wellness Council.
The first three shows will be held in the parking lot behind the library, 2234 Jackson Ave. The Aug. 27 show will be at the gazebo at the Seaford Long Island Rail Road station.
