Officials from the Hempstead Town building department and the Federal Emergency Management Agency on Monday will attend a meeting on rebuilding for superstorm Sandy victims.
The meeting, scheduled for 7 p.m. at Seaford High School, also will include insurance attorneys, construction companies and advocates for residents who are rebuilding, said Nassau Legis. Dave Denenberg (D-Merrick), who is hosting the event.
The meeting will focus on rebuilding homes, elevating homes, Hempstead building permit requirements, insurance issues and FEMA assistance, Denenberg said in a statement.
“Flooding on residential streets, which are town or village roads, will be discussed and the Town of Hempstead engineering department is invited to attend and address this issue,” Denenberg’s statement said.
Seaford High School is at 1575 Seamans Neck Rd.
