Search on for new Huntington comptroller

The Town of Huntington is looking for a new comptroller now that its current director of the department of audit and control is moving on.

Comptroller Tracy Yogman has resigned effective April 20.

“We will immediately begin a search to replace Tracy and are confident we will receive many resumes from attractive candidates,” Town Supervisor Frank Petrone said in a news release. “Meanwhile, the comptroller’s office will be in the hands of Tracy’s capable deputy, Andrew Persich, who also has a distinguished record of government service.”

Petrone said Yogman is a sound fiscal adviser whose knowledge benefited the entire town.

“Tracy has provided invaluable service to the Town over the past four years in helping to keep the Town’s finances in order so that we consistently win awards for our financial practices and maintain a AAA rating for our bonds,” Petrone said in the release.

He cited several years of commendations from organizations that consider government accounting and financial reporting practices, as well as the town’s consistent high bond ratings.

“It’s been a great experience,” Yogman, an Oyster Bay resident, said of her time with the town. “It’s provided professional growth and given me the opportunity to help the town through these challenging fiscal times. It’s sad to leave but sometimes you have to move on.”
