The hunt, sponsored by the Third House Nature Center and Concerned Citizens of Montauk, will focus on local seaweeds, while Liddle will talk about seaweed biology, its evolutionary significance and the way it adapts to survive in the ocean and in tidal pools.

Liddle, a retired professor of biology and marine science, has also used seaweed to create art works that were shown in local galleries.

The program is open to the public and does not require advance registration.
