In preparation for the second presidential debate at 9 p.m. Tuesday, media members are required to park at the Mitchel Athletic Complex in Uniondale, then take a bus to the Hofstra University student center to pick up necessary Secret Service credentials.
At almost every intersection on campus there are road blockades with Nassau County police enforcing security. One police officer told the bus driver that there was supposed to be an officer on the bus with us. It took us 30 minutes to get to the student center, then I was told I had to wait until 9 a.m. to pick up the special Secret Service media credential with my picture on it.
All the while, a helicopter flew overhead above multiple media outlets filming groups of students and protesters holding signs and screaming in excitement during pre-presidential debate festivities.
