Two styles of girls lacrosse helmets are approved for use by U.S. Lacrosse, and they resemble bicycle or hockey helmets in appearance but differ because the material that makes up the shell is more flexible to the touch. The Cascade helmet, which costs $149, has a steel face mask that covers the player’s eyes. The Hummingbird, which costs $139, fits around the goggles players normally wear.
