Sen. Cory Booker reminds all: Super Bowl is played in New Jersey

At least one New Jerseyian is already up-in-arms about the perceived lack of coverage his home state is getting for hosting the Super Bowl compared to New York.
Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.), in an appearance on FOX’s “Good Day New York” on Monday morning, said the lack of credit New Jersey is getting is “ridiculous.”
“I passed miffed a while ago,” he said. “I mean this is ridiculous. I’ve heard it consistently. I watched the Pro Bowl last night, and so frustrating, every time they talk about the Super Bowl, ‘We’ll see you in New York, We’ll see you in New York.’
“Well, they’re not playing in New York, they’re playing in New Jersey.”
Booker, the former mayor of Newark, said hosting the Super Bowl has been a joint effort between both states since the start, however, nationally he thinks New Jersey is “getting the short shrift.”
“One of the biggest events is what? Media Day. Where is that? Newark, N.J.,” Booker said. “The game is in New Jersey. Teams are staying in New Jersey. Who’s providing the security and protection? New Jersey.”
Who knows? Booker might even lobby to change the Jets’ and Giants’ names someday. He added, “People don’t even realize we got two so-called teams that play where? New Jersey.”
