Seaford High School’s Sept. 11 memorial will again be the site of a 9/11 memorial service commemorating the attacks this year.

The memorial service, which takes place every year and often attracts more than 800 people, is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Sept. 11.

The event will include a ceremony and several speakers, said Dawn Haskell-Carbone, one of the event’s organizers.

Nassau County Police and Seaford Fire departments typically participate in the event, Haskell-Carbone said.

Haskell-Carbone lost two brothers in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks — New York Fire Department members Thomas and Timothy Haskell.

She said the memorial service honors the memory of those who died on Sept. 11 and those who continue to suffer because of the terrorist attacks.

“It’s reflective of everything that happened that day and everything that continues to happen,” she said.

The high school is at 1575 Seamans Neck Rd. in Seaford, just east of the Seaford Oyster Bay Expressway.
