Severe thunderstorm watch in Nassau, NYC
The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Nassau county, New York City, Rockland and Westchester counties. It is in effect until 10 p.m.
A severe thunderstorm watch indicates that conditions have created a significant risk for severe weather, but it is not actually occuring. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do cause tornadores.
