Give the NFL schedule makers credit. These are two of the best teams in the NFC, and the last two Super Bowl champs (and perhaps, a possible NFC title game preview?). No team overcame more injuries last season than the defending champ Packers. But no team was better during the lockout than the Saints, who held six weeks of player-run (see: Drew Brees) practices back in May. Green Bay has covered four straight openers. New Orleans is 5-1 against the spread (ATS) in its last six openers. I'm pumped to watch Saints RB Mark Ingram, who leads a talented stable of running backs. Take the points.
THE PICK: Saints.
ADAM RONIS' FANTASY TAKE
In what should be a high-scoring game, Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees are the usual must starts. The Packers' Ryan Grant and James Starks are splitting carries so seek better options this week. The Saints have a three-way split, and Mark Ingram is the best bet because he will see goal-line work. Lance Moore is risky because of a groin injury. Jermichael Finley (GB) and Jimmy Graham (NO) are must-starts and will be top options all season at tight end.
