Area residents can safely dispose of expired or unused medications Saturday at the Massapequa Park railroad station.

The Shed the Meds program will take place between 9 a.m. and noon at the parking lot on the east side of Park Boulevard.

The event is sponsored by state Sen. Charles Fuschillo Jr. (R-Merrick) and the Nassau County Police Department, whose officers will dispose of the medications.
