Shia LaBeouf apologizes via skywriting for plagiarism

"Transformers" star Shia LaBeouf has apologized again for plagiarizing comics writer-artist Daniel Clowes -- this time with skywriting.
In a photo LaBeouf posted on his Twitter page, the airborne apology "I AM SORRY DANIEL CLOWES" is spelled out over Los Angeles on New Year's Day. Clowes, best-known for his series "Ghost World," lives 370 miles north in Oakland, Calif., and has not publicly responded.
LaBeouf first apologized on Dec. 17 after it became evident that his 2012 short film "HowardCantour.com," about an online movie critic played by Jim Gaffigan, plagiarized Clowes' story "Justin M. Damiano," published in the 2008 fundraising anthology "The Book of Other People."
The actor then continued posting numerous apologies and explanations across several days up to Dec. 31.
Wednesday he tweeted: "I am not a biter. I'm a writer for myself and others. I steal some plot points & dialogue," adding, "I'm only big'n up my brother," a possible suggestion that the controversy has helped publicize Clowes' work.
