Shneeka Center drops 40 to reach 2,000 points

Shneeka Center decided to end the suspense quickly. The Smithtown West senior forward needed 27 points coming into tonight against Bellport to reach 2,000 career points and she scored 40 in a 70-56 win. She hit 14 fields goals and 12 free throws. She has 2,013 career points and became the second player in five days on Long Island to reach 2,000 points. Center will attend Davidson next season. She has 110 points over her last three games, including a 40-point and a 41-point game.
