Showers and T-Storms for LI on Tuesday

A cold front moving toward Long Island will weaken just a bit, bringing with it light to moderate showers and even a chance of a few thunderstorms on Tuesday.

Temperatures will start off mild -- in the mid-50s -- but will fall into the mid- to upper-40s as the cold front passes in the afternoon.

Conditions on Long Island will clear up for the day on Wednesday, but then the next several days look soggy.

This Day in Weather History:

1982 - An unprecedented April blizzard hit the Northeast. One to two feet of snow fell across Massachusetts and Connecticut, and up to 26 inches was reported in Maine. New York City received a foot of snow. Winds reached 70 to 80 mph during the storm, and the storm also produced numerous thunderstorms, which contributed to the heavy snow.
