Newsday.com is looking for participants for a live video chat at noon on Sunday, Jan. 20, with part-time Orient resident Earl Carter, a “Mad Men”-esque advertising pro whose work includes the U.S. Army’s “Be All You Can Be” campaign. The interview will follow the launch of Newsday community journalist Erin Geismar’s “In Another Light “ video profile of Carter, who is also a fiction writer and professor.
Carter, who will discuss some of his more famous work, received a civilian Medal of Honor from the Army in 2008.
You can watch his video interview at newsday.com/inanotherlight on Jan. 20 and then join in on the conversation at noon, when Carter will be on hand to discuss the Army campaign (as well as a slew of other familiar taglines), comparisons to Don Draper and his take on modern advertising.
