The theme of "Families change on LI" [News, May 15] was that the census showed a decline in husband-wife households. The article emphasized single-mother households, with fathers nowhere to be found.

One of the fastest growing segments of the population, both locally and nationally, is custodial father households. I cannot understand why the article ignored these. Nor can I understand why it ignored the great role played by most fathers when their children do primarily reside with the mother.

Another fast-growing segment of the population within husband-wife households is the stay-at-home father. A responsible newspaper should give a complete, accurate and unbiased view of the changing landscape of the modern family.
