Sivillis lead Glenn to girls lacrosse win

Rachel Corso scored off an assist from Mary-Kate Sivilli (two goals, five assists) with 23 seconds left to lift Glenn over Patchogue-Medford, 16-15, Saturday in non-league girls lacrosse. Maddlyn Sivilli (three goals, one assist) had tied the score with five minutes remaining. Holly Ventimiglia had seven goals and an assist for Patchogue-Medford.

Babylon 10, Brentwood 7: Noelle Rogers (three goals) scored with 15 minutes left to give Babylon (1-0) a 7-6 lead. Emily Funk, Carolanne Murphy and Maggie Griffo each had a goal and had an assist. Melanie Lewis scored four goals for Brentwood.

Brentwood 11, Center Moriches 2: Orlando Polanco scored three goals to lead Brentwood in non-league. Danny Cruz and Leandro Goncalves each added two and William Spence made eight saves.

West Hempstead 12, Hempstead 1: Bruno DeVito had three goals and an assist for West Hempstead in non-league. Mike Castagna added three goals and Frank LoNigro had eight saves.

Softball

Hicksville 11, Roslyn 2: Freshman Marissa Ciriello hit a three-run homer in her first varsity at-bat for Hicksville in non-league. Kelly Moorehead went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBIs.

Seaford 5, Carey 3: Lindsay Montemarano (2-for-3, 5 RBIs) doubled in two runs in the top of the fifth with one out to break a tie at 3 for Seaford in non-league. Montemarano, who went 2-for-3 with five RBIs, also got the win, striking out four in 32/3 innings of scoreless relief. Nicole Scheiferstein was 2-for-3 with two runs and Erica Fischetti went 2-for-3 with a run.

Northport 6, Smithtown East 1: Will Pratt Stephen defeated Andrew Eisenson, 6-0, 6-0, in third singles to lead Northport (2-0) in non-league. Dylan Stevens and Lee Talman beat Chris Moreno and Ricky Atwal, 3-6, 6-0, 6-2, in first doubles.
