Slow start for Giants' new offense
Jaxson Dart and the Giants' starting offense took the field to open the game. Cam Skattebo started at RB, Theo Johnson at TE. Darnell Mooney and Darius Slayton started at WR. Marcus Mbow was at left tackle with Andrew Thomas joining several vets sitting out.
The offense took the field to great applause and ran six plays before punting. Skattebo took the first carry on the first play to loud cheers. Dart's first completion was to new tight end Isaiah Likely. However Dart got sacked on third down with the Vikings bringing pressure.
Overall, a so-so first impression by the new-look offense. Bryan Hudson, starting at center, snapped the ball just a bit to Dart's left which forced Dart to spin around and throw off his timing for an incomplete pass to Tyrone Tracy.
