Smithtown Christian takes second straight Southeast Region 'D' title
Jimmy Seviour led Smithtown Christian to its second straight Southeast Region Class D baseball title with an 8-4 win over Livingston Manor of Sullivan County Saturday at Canteen Field in Saugerties.
Seviour tossed a six-hitter, walked two and struck out 10 to earn the win. He allowed two earned runs.
"Jimmy was throwing the ball really well and hitting his spots," said Smithtown Christian's first-year coach Chris White. "And he contributed with his bat as well."
Smithtown Christian (11-10), the defending state Class D champions, will face Fort Ann at MacArthur Park in Binghamton in a state Class D semifinal on Saturday at 10 a.m.
