Shoppers swarmed Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace in Melville on Friday, gathering post-holiday and pre-storm staples, such as fresh produce, milk and bread.
The packed store resembled the rush before Christmas Eve as store employees kept shelves stocked with supplies, including cheese, pasta and other ingredients.
As cars snaked their way though the Melville Mall, other shoppers searched for items such as snow boots at Dick’s Sporting Goods.
The roads in Melville and Huntington Station were packed Friday afternoon, hours before the snow's forecasted arrival. Suffolk County officials have encouraged people to avoid travel during the snowfall.
