How many crashes happened during the storm?

Officials in both counties have updated their statistics on motor vehicle crashes during the storm.
Suffolk police reported 269 motor vehicle accidents between 11 a.m. Sunday and 11:30 p.m. Monday, according to Michael Martino, the director of communications for Suffolk County Executive Edward P. Romaine.
Suffolk fire officials responded to 43 calls for motor vehicle accidents with injuries during that same time period, they said.
Nassau County police said that as of 5 a.m. Tuesday, 167 motor vehicle accidents had been reported since Sunday at 9 a.m. A further breakdown was not immediately available.
