Geno Smith completed eight of his first 10 passes, including a touchdown pass to Mason Taylor. Smith should have had another, but he threw it behind Garrett Wilson in the end zone.

The offense struggled and played sloppily overall in the final two-minute period against Tampa on Wednesday.

Braelon Allen dropped a pass on first down. Armand Membou, who had some difficulties containing rookie Ruben Bain, was called for a hold three plays later. There was a false start. Smith only completed 2 of 7 passes. The Jets had to settle for a 61-yard Jason Sanders’ field goal attempt into the wind that was well short.

“I feel like we could have made a few more plays,” Smith said, “but overall, it was good work.”
