SoulCalibur V wants to create a "Cool Kids Club," where only master players are welcome to enjoy the riches of the game. A new combat tool is introduced in this edition, called the critical gauge. This meter builds up over time, and allows you to unleash a barrage of offensive or defensive moves. There is no tutorial showing you how it works, however, and it takes some time to comprehend the complex new controls.
