The Giants re-signed receiver Braxton Berrios to the practice squad.
Berrios was among the cuts Sunday, but a league source confirmed to Newsday that he'll be back on the team.
The Giants did some tricky roster maneuvering with Berrios. Because Berrios is a vested veteran - four years of NFL service - he could be waived without hitting the waiver wire. That allowed the Giants to use a roster spot on someone else and then re-sign Berrios without much problem.
Berrios will be expected to start Week 1 at kick returner. He performed well in training camp in that role so he'll likely resume it when practice begins Monday.
Also, linebacker Darius Muasau was claimed on waivers by the Patriots. He'll reunite with former Giants defensive coordinator Shane Bowen, who is now a defensive analyst in New England.
