The suspect charged with fatally shooting four people during a robbery at a Medford pharmacy on Father's Day is expected to plead guilty Thursday, two sources close to the case said.

David Laffer, 33, is charged with first-degree murder and with the robbery of 10,000 hydrocodone pills taken from Haven Drugs to feed his and his wife's addictions.

Laffer's wife, Melinda Brady, 29, also is due in court Thursday. She is charged with robbery. Prosecutors said she helped her husband plan the holdup, fashioned his disguise, drove the getaway car and helped him try to concoct an alibi afterward.

Laffer is expected to plead guilty as charged before Suffolk County Court Judge James Hudson. He faces a maximum sentence of life in prison without parole. Brady faces as much as 25 years.

Laffer's attorney, Eric Naiburg of Central Islip, said his client will be in court Thursday.

Laffer is charged with killing pharmacist Raymond Ferguson, 45, drugstore employee Jennifer Mejia, 17, and customers Jaime Taccetta, 33, and Bryon Sheffield, 71.

Prosecutors have said evidence against Laffer includes a video of the crime.

The video shows Ferguson unlocking the entrance door and turning on the lights with Mejia. They chatted about Mejia shopping for a prom dress, and then four minutes later, the door opened. It was the man authorities said is Laffer, wearing a fake beard, sunglasses, baseball cap and carrying a backpack.

He walked to the counter in the back, put the backpack on the counter and told Mejia to go in the back so he could talk privately with Ferguson. He leaned over the counter, talking casually with Ferguson, with his hand in the bag. Without warning, he shot Ferguson.

The man darted behind the counter, stepped over Ferguson and went into the backroom. Mejia screamed, there were two shots and then silence. He stood over Ferguson and shot him two more times.

After wiping down the counter with his sweatshirt and starting to fill his backpack with drugs, he heard the front door and went to the front while Sheffield walked down a different aisle to the rear of the store. The gunman walked behind Sheffield and shot him once in the head. Soon after, the same thing happened when Taccetta entered the store.

The robber filled his backpack, wiped the counter again and left, not noticing a paper he knocked to the ground. The fingerprints left on it were Laffer's, authorities said.

A minute later, Taccetta's fiance walked in and discovered the horrific scene.

Prosecutors said they have recovered the gun and about 2,000 of the stolen pills.

Brady also has described her role in the crime, authorities said.
