Southampton checklist to benefit planners

Southampton Town plans to institute a site plan checklist that would standardize requirements and procedure for its planners.

The 23-page document would be attached to each site plan review application, giving both the developer and town planner clear procedures to follow and it also would “facilitate public review,” director of planning David Wilcox explained to the town board at Friday’s work session.

The checklist also points to the appropriate town code section in each check-off area.

“It will make site plan reviews more consistent and transparent,” said Freda Eisenberg, assistant town planning and development administrator.
