A $4.1 million expansion is underway at Southampton Hospital.
Hudson River Health Care broke ground last week on the Kraus Family Health Center of the Hamptons. The facility is designed to provide medical, dental and mental health care for the underserved and vulnerable, officials said in a statement.
“Our partnerships, like the ones we are building with Southampton Hospital, Stony Brook University Hospital, and Suffolk County are based on a single unifying commitment -- to expand primary and preventive care for the community,” said Anne Kauffman Nolon, president and CEO of HRHCare, in a statement.
Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone said this would expand hours of services for primary care, dental and behavioral health services.
“This is a unique public/private partnership to deliver the best health care possible to Suffolk County residents at a lower cost to taxpayers, and we look forward to expanding that partnership here and beyond,” he said in a statement.
The 9,000-square-foot-facility will be completed in early 2014. It will include a family practice, women’s health services and dental services.
