The Southampton Village board of trustees voted Thursday to update its village business zoning and make those changes part of the village master plan.
But to accomplish that, officials must first amend their zoning code. So the village board has set a public hearing for March 14 at 6 p.m. in Village Hall on changing its zoning to reflect new standards on parking, architectural appearance, and creating new parks and streets downtown.
The new plan, the first major update to the village master plan since 2008, focuses on maintaining the existing look and feel of the business district, while also making room for change and development. It also looks to change parking requirements.
The 117-page report on recommended changes can be found on the village website, by clicking on the heading “Southampton Village Center Zoning and Architectural Design Guidelines 5MB.”
