A day after being put on suspension by the Southampton school board, Southampton High School Principal Adam Fine and Assistant Principal Maria Mondini were hired in the same capacities at East Hampton High School, according to a published report.

The suspensions, which were handed down at a special school board meeting Monday night, were apparently the result of the pair’s planned defection to East Hampton.

“We wanted to finish out a good year with our students and our school, but now we’re relieved it’s all over and we’re very excited,” Fine told 27east.com Tuesday after the East Hampton School Board voted to hire him.
