Southampton Town receives website award
Southampton Town Hall received a 2011 Center for Digital Government Best of New York Award last month for the public meeting information on its town clerk website.
The award category was best application serving the public and the award lauded Southampton for “enhancing the public meeting process.”
Town Clerk Sundy Schermeyer accepted the award on behalf of the town at a conference last month in Albany.
More than $100,000 has been saved in staff time and resources, according to the town, and the public can access meeting videos and information outside of town hall hours via the website.
