Former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer said he misses politics and refused to rule out a run for office again, according to an interview published on Fortune magazine's Web site.
"I love politics," Spitzer told the magazine. "The substance, the debate about the issues . . . I've never said I would never consider running for office again."
Spitzer said making a race this year is "just hard to see" but mused about a future run for state comptroller. In 2007, Spitzer fought the appointment of Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli of Great Neck.
Two years ago last month, Spitzer resigned after being linked to a prostitution ring. In 2006, he had been elected governor with almost 70 percent of the vote - the largest margin in modern state history. His magazine interview comes as an authorized biography, "Rough Justice" by Fortune's Peter Elkind, is due to hit stores April 20.
