Report: A.J., Phils agree
A person familiar with the deal says A.J. Burnett has agreed to a one-year contract with the Phillies. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity yesterday because the Phillies haven't made an official announcement. Burnett's deal reportedly is worth $16 million. The move comes on the day ace Cole Hamels said he won't be ready Opening Day because of left biceps tendinitis. Hamels said he no longer is feeling any pain or discomfort, but is "eight to 10 days" behind the rest of the pitchers in camp.
