Red Sox trade Scutaro to Rockies
The Rockies acquired infielder Marco Scutaro from the Red Sox for pitcher Clayton Mortensen in a deal that could pave the way for top Boston prospect Jose Iglesias to take over at shortstop sooner than expected. With Colorado taking on Scutaro's $6-million contract, Boston has the financial flexibility to make a run at free-agent pitcher Roy Oswalt. Scutaro, 36, hit a career-high .299 last season. Mortensen, 26, was 2-4 with a 3.86 ERA.GOLF
Wilson takes Humana Challenge by 2
Mark Wilson made a 10-foot birdie putt on the final hole to win the Humana Challenge, beating Robert Garrigus, John Mallinger and Johnson Wagner by two strokes in a dramatic dusk finish to the wind-delayed tournament in La Quinta, Calif. Moments after Garrigus barely missed a 35-foot eagle putt that would have given him the lead, Wilson made his birdie try in the disappearing light, then calmly celebrated his fifth PGA Tour victory. Wilson led by three strokes Sunday morning after finishing his third round, which was delayed by ferocious wind Saturday.
