Giants sign ex-Dolphin Jerry

John Jerry, the former Dolphins guard who was implicated in the culture of locker- room harassment detailed by the Ted Wells Report earlier this year, was signed by the Giants yesterday. While the report focused mostly on Jonathan Martin and Richie Incognito, Jerry was said to have started the name-calling directed at Martin in 2012. Jerry, 27, can play both guard and tackle.

Schaub goes to Raiders

The Raiders acquired quarterback Matt Schaub from Houston for a sixth-round draft pick . . . Former Jets quarterback Greg McElroy, 25, has retired.

The National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame in Saratoga Springs announced that trainer Steve Asmussen no longer will be considered for election to the Hall of Fame this year.
