GOLFLee leads at Firestone
Danny Lee made seven birdies for a 5-under 65 for a one-shot lead yesterday in his first time at the Bridgestone Invitational in six years. Lee had a one-shot lead over Graeme McDowell and Jim Furyk. The major championship pairing of Jordan Spieth (Masters and U.S. Open) and Zach Johnson (British Open) produced two rounds of even-par 70 at Firestone in Akron, Ohio.
OLYMPICSMelo expected at minicamp
Carmelo Anthony, LeBron James and Chris Paul are among 34 players expected next week at the U.S. Men's Basketball minicamp, indicating their possible interest in chasing a third Olympic gold medal. Kevin Durant, Paul George, Blake Griffin and Kevin Love are also expected.

Ledecky gets another gold
Katie Ledecky anchored a 3.04-second comeback victory in the 4 x 200-meter freestyle relay for her fourth gold medal at the world swimming championships in Kazan, Russia.

Kane's property searched
The NHL says it is "following developments" of a police investigation involving Chicago Blackhawks star Patrick Kane. Neighbors of Kane, who lives in Hamburg, New York, in the offseason, told the Chicago Tribune that police arrived at his lakefront property Sunday night and that several plainclothes officers entered his house using flashlights. Hamburg Police Chief Gregory Wickett would not describe the nature of the investigation.

Cilic defeats Querrey
U.S. Open champion Marin Cilic played two terrific tiebreakers to edge 13th-seeded Sam Querrey, 7-6 (2), 7-6 (3), and reach the Citi Open quarterfinals in Washington. Take away the tiebreakers and Querrey won more total points, 74-67. He also compiled more winners, 32-25. -- AP
