Stanford women end
UConn's streak at 47
Amber Orrange made a go-ahead jumper with 1:38 left in overtime after hitting the tying three-pointer with 1.4 seconds remaining in regulation, sending No. 6 Stanford to an 88-86 win over top-ranked Connecticut to snap the Huskies' 47-game winning streak Monday night in Stanford, California.
The Cardinal (2-0) ended another long Huskies' run nearly four years after snapping their NCAA record 90-game unbeaten streak. UConn (1-1) went 40-0 last season on the way to its second straight championship.
'16 NCAAs at Barclays;
'17 East Regional: Garden
The NCAA announced that the NCAA Tournament will return to New York City twice in the next three seasons -- for opening weekend games at Barclays Center in 2016 and for the East Regional at Madison Square Garden in 2017.
The Garden hosted the East Regional this past March, the first regional there since 1951.
Old Westbury women roll
Jasmine Robinson had 20 points and nine steals as SUNY Old Westbury defeated Medgar Evers, 88-33.

Michigan player charged
with domestic violence
Michigan defensive end Frank Clark was dismissed from the team yesterday, the day he pleaded not guilty to assault and domestic violence charges for allegedly beating up a woman at an Ohio hotel over the weekend.

Nuggets knock off Cavs
The Nuggets ended the host Cavaliers' four-game winning streak, 106-97. LeBron James, who missed the morning shootaround with a cold, scored 22 points. The Nuggets had lost seven of eight and were coming off Sunday's loss to the Knicks in which they made one basket in the second quarter. -- AP
