Third title for Vonn
Lindsey Vonn clinched her third discipline title in three days with a super-G victory yesterday to wrap up a memorable weekend of racing in Tarvasio, Italy.
Vonn took the super-combined and downhill titles the past two days and moved within 96 points of German rival and good friend Maria Riesch in the overall standings with six races left this season. TENNIS
U.S. cooks Chile
Andy Roddick beat Paul Capdeville, 3-6, 7-6 (2), 6-3, 6-3, to give the United States a 3-1 lead in its 4-1 win over Chile in the first-round Davis Cup World Group series. The U.S. advanced to the quarterfinals in July at home against Rafael Nadal and Spain.

Drew Stafford scored 46 seconds into overtime as visiting Buffalo beat Minnesota, 3-2, and moved into eighth in the East, two points behind the Rangers (74 points).
