NFLPryor ruled eligible for draft

Former Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor was declared eligible by the NFL for Monday's supplemental draft but must sit out the first five games after he signs a contract. Pryor gave up his final season with the Buckeyes following an NCAA investigation into the football team's memorabilia-for-cash scandal. He would've had to sit out five games at Ohio State if he had chosen to return to school. The league informed clubs that Pryor "made decisions that undermine the integrity of the eligibility rules for the NFL draft." Among those, the league said, was his failure to cooperate with the NCAA and his hiring of an agent in violation of NCAA rules.HORSE RACING

Overdriven's workout canceledTodd Pletcher canceled a workout for owner Mike Repole's undefeated 2-year-old Overdriven yesterday morning at Saratoga. The trainer told the Daily Racing Form's website he didn't like the way the colt was moving over the track, so he had exercise rider Patti Krotenko gallop Overdriven about 11/2 miles instead of breezing him 4 furlongs. It was the second time in nine days Pletcher decided not to work the Sanford Stakes winner. The colt was found to have a pulled gluteal muscle and resumed training a few days later. In an email to Newsday, Repole said Overdriven would have diagnostic tests "maybe [today] or Monday."
