McIlroy leads Tiger by one
Rory McIlroy was dialed in with his irons and birdied his last two holes for an 8-under 64 yesterday that got him into a four-way tie for the lead in the BMW Championship at Crooked Stick in Carmel, Ind. Bo Van Pelt, U.S. Open champion Webb Simpson and Graham DeLaet also were at 64.
Tiger Woods chipped in from 30 feet for birdie on his last hole and was one shot behind.
PARALYMPICSPistorius fourth in 100 meters
Oscar Pistorius finished fourth in the 100-meter final at the Paralympics in London. Jonny Peacock of Britain won the showpiece race in 10.90 seconds to cheers from the home crowd. Pistorius, who competed in the London Olympics, had a time of 11.17. -- APNBANets work out deal with backup center Blatche
The Nets have agreed in principle on a one-year deal for the veteran's minimum with backup center Andray Blatche, a league source said. Blatche, whom the Wizards waived through the amnesty provision earlier this summer, has averaged 9.9 points and 5.5 rebounds in his seven-year career.
