Springlike for two days, then cooling off

Springlike conditions will prevail Sunday and Monday, as most Long Islanders can expect high temperatures in the 60s with clear to partly cloudy skies.

Cooler temperatures in the upper 50s are forecast for the East End, however.

The warmth will give way to cooler air Monday night as lows will be in the 50s for Long Island and a few spots near the city, said meteorologist Joey Picca, of National Weather Service.

Monday night's forecast heading into Tuesday calls for temperatures in the low 50s across Long Island, but a cold front will bring less than an inch of rain by Tuesday morning, forecasters said.

Tuesday should have highs in the 50s, but in the lower 30s at night. There will be clear skies heading into Wednesday, which will bring high temperatures into the 50s and lows in the 30s.

Thursday, high temperatures in the low 50s are expected, but they will again dip to the 30s at night.
